Banyue is a composed and noble machine originally built to suppress Miasma, who now dedicates himself to protecting citizens and teaching martial arts with a strict, disciplined approach that contrasts sharply with his gentle side outside the dojo. Despite his incredible combat power and relentless efficiency against Ethereals—refusing to strike innocents even when provoked—he remains endearingly out of touch with modern life, using default Inter-Knot icons, recently learning slang, and requiring rescue by heavy-duty salvage vessel after diving into Sailume Bay despite being waterproof. He has a fondness for rhythmically playing with prayer beads, a paralyzing fear of mice, and becomes notably flustered whenever his mechanical anatomy is discussed—whether from Grace and Enzo's eager examinations or simple compliments, once fleeing a building immediately after Belle called him cute during a documentary. Though his expressionless face rarely shows emotion, those close to him sense the warmth behind his actions, understanding that his future choices serve as the best declaration that this ancient machine possesses a true heart.
