Lucia Elowen, the "Night Emissary" of Spook Shack, is a backpacker and Ethereal story enthusiast who hails from a mysterious tribe living on the Hollow's edge—descendants of ancestors who encountered an unarchived Ethereal called the "Night Horror," gaining the strange gift of invisibility to Ethereals at the cost of dreaming of the creature and sleepwalking toward corruption. To survive, her people became Nightwatchers: resting by day, hunting through the night, and keeping vigil over any who must sleep, a tradition Lucia carries into New Eridu where she squats on air conditioners and taps on windows at all hours, terrifying patrolling officers while protecting her cherished friends from the Night Horror's reach. Her childhood was marked by a father in Defense Force special forces who could only visit yearly, until one emergency departure became a game of hide-and-seek he never returned from—years later, in the Town, she faced him corrupted into the Wandering Hunter and, humming a nursery rhyme, finally ended their unfinished game. Whether sharing ghost stories that keep Bangboo from sleeping, writing with a conviction that makes even sleep-talking feel real, or roaming the night with her pet Hati Chestnut, Lucia proves that fairies really do live in Hollows—they just need someone brave enough to tap on your window and ask if you want to be friends.
